To increase sugarcane production in present situation of costly chemical fertilizers, it a good nutrient management which is specified to production area is required. Therefore, the response of sugarcane to nutrient management in sandy soil in the Eastern part of Thailand had been investigated. The study aimed to get the most effectively recommendation of fertilizer application for sugarcane grown on sandy soils. The experiment was conducted on Sattahip (Sh) sandy soil, at Muang district, Rayong province. The experimental design was a split-split plot with 3 replications. Evaluation of rice genetic resources was conducted in 2012 wet season at 5 rice research centers, namely, Pathum Thani, Suphan Buri, Chachoengsao, Prachin Buri and Ratchaburi. Morphological data were collected from 280 accessions. Lowland rice accessions with the earliest heading date was IR 58025 B (G.S. No. 18443); the latest heading date was KHAO SUPAN (G.S. No. 9585); the highest panicle number was SUPHANBURI 2 (G.S. No. 13746); the longest panicle was KHAO PAHK MAW (G.S. No. 991). Effects of climate change on disease epidemics in the eastern area were studied during 2011-2013. This study consists of 2 activities, the first activity was monitoring the outbreak of rice diseases in farmer field’s network. The occurrence of rice blast was found every year and the highest disease severity was 40 percent in January 2013. The highest of rice bacterial blight and bacterial leaf streak severity were 90 percent in September 2012 and 40 percent in July 2012, respectively. The second activity was studying the relationship between rice diseases epidemics and climate change at Chachoengsao Rice Research Center.
